Sentosa has always been a popular destination for families but it has recently reinvented itself as an adult playground, thanks in part to Resorts World, now home to six hotels, dozens of restaurants, a high end casino and shops, among other diversions. Here are 5 ways to enjoy a romantic Sentosa stay for couples at Sentosa Island in Singapore.
Stay at Capella Singapore
Sentosa may be better known as a family destination but the island is home to one of Singapore’s most romantic hotels. Capella Singapore, an intimate resort set high on a hill overlooking the Straits, is surrounded by jungle and has tiered swimming pools encircled by couple’s day beds. Rooms have a cosy two person window seat and deluxe shower that is big enough for two. Complimentary non-alcoholic mini-bar and daily afternoon tea served in a genteel guest lounge is included. Once you arrive at Capella it is tempting not to venture outside its luxurious surrounds.
Dine at S.E.A. Aquarium
Ocean Restaurant at S.E.A. Aquarium has linen-napped tables and an upmarket vibe and is surrounded by stingrays, giant cod and schools of colourful fish. Diners enjoy a set menu of Mediterranean cuisine with an Asian twist overlooking the world’s largest aquarium. Request a table for two by the floor to ceiling viewing area when you book.
Go skydiving at Sentosa
You don’t need to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane to go skydiving at Sentosa. Indoor skydiving at iFly is fun for all ages and gives you the feeling you’re skydiving without the scary stuff. It’s fun for all ages to so the whole family can skydive together.
Get trendy at Tanjong Beach Club
Sentosa also has three man-made beaches with Tanjong being the most secluded. It is located at the far end of the island away from the crowds at Siloso and the families at Palawan. Imagine the restaurant at your local Surf Life Saving Club being reinvented with lashings of designer cool then add a swimming pool, trendy cocktails and beautiful people playing beach volleyball and that’s Tanjong Beach Club.
Zipline at MegaZip Adventure Park
MegaZip Adventure Park has a challenging high-ropes course, a simulated parachute jump and a 450 metre long flying fox. There are multiple zip lines so you can race each other over the jungle canopy and the buzzing bars and restaurants at Siloso Beach. Arrive later in the evening after the families have gone home for maximum thrills.
