I love visiting Mooloolaba in winter. The sun is shining, the temperature is a lovely 22 degrees and it is another perfect day in paradise. It’s been many years since my last visit to Mooloolaba and a few things have changed, especially the dining scene which has come along in leaps and bounds. However, that stellar view and the beach are as beautiful as ever. Next time I won’t leave it so long to get back here!
With Mooloolaba’s famous stretch of sand right in front of our accommodation at Oceans Mooloolaba, some of the best restaurants and bars on Mooloolaba’s dining strip directly downstairs, and everything else like The Wharf Mooloolaba and SEA LIFE Mooloolaba within easy walking distance, there is no need for a car here. Oceans Mooloolaba even has its own mini movie cinema that you can rent out for just $30 if the weather isn’t playing along or you would like to enjoy a private movie screening one night.
Our two bedroom apartment at Oceans Mooloolaba is stunning, with impressive views of the beach and an interior that looks like something you’d see in Home Beautiful magazine. The 46 apartments at this boutique hotel range in size from two to four bedrooms, including penthouse apartments. They’re all decorated with modern beach chic décor and have a view of the Mooloolaba boardwalk and the beach to get you into the Sunshine Coast vibe with no need to leave your hotel.
The accommodation at Oceans Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast is impressively spacious with a long, narrow design that gives the illusion of even more space. Everything is first class, from the fridge with an in-built icemaker to the upmarket toiletries in the bathroom and the comfortable king size bed. There is also a huge bathtub with beach views. The kitchen is equipped with high end appliances plus a nicer lounge and dining setting than we have at home. It is easy to stock your apartment for a longer stay or buy more coffee pods for Nespresso machine at the supermarket a short walk from the hotel.
We had a stunning meal as part of The Curated Plate food festival downstairs at Bella Venezia but if you don’t feel like venturing out there is no need to leave the apartment. Oceans Mooloolaba offers a high end holiday experience with a laid back ambience that encourages you to sit back and relax. If you’re after a romantic stay on the Sunshine Coast in a dress circle location, then Oceans Mooloolaba ticks a lot of boxes. Not just for the quality of the accommodation but also the friendly staff who seem genuinely interested in what you’ve been up to and how your day has been.
Add a heated spa and a pool that is large enough for swimming laps, a fully equipped gym and a sunbathing deck with a view of the beach, and you’ve pretty much got it all. Whether you’re travelling as a couple or a family, Oceans Mooloolaba is one of Mooloolaba’s best hotels for a luxurious stay.
